As exciting as the Luxury Designer Showcase will be as a
must-see design event, it is more than just an exhibition of the best talent in
all areas of design operating in the Phoenix area. LuxePros is proud to be partnering
with local charity Free Arts of Arizona, as our way of giving back to the
community and ensuring that everyone has access to an arts education.

Free Arts has been serving Arizona for over two decades,
helping children and young adults manage and overcome abuse and neglect with
the aid of weekly mentoring programs, workshops with professional artists, and
a variety of specialized summer camps. Also, Free Arts provides a Youth
Leadership Team, founded and primarily operated by teens who want to provide a
safe space for continued access to the programs even after children leave the
foster system.

 

Utilizing the system of “Art with Intention,” Free Arts
crafts unique, thoughtful programs which are designed to “promote safety,
self-expression and a sense of belonging.” These three things are of
incalculable importance to the children that Free Arts serves, most of whom live
in foster care homes, domestic violence or homeless shelters, and residential
treatment centers. When Free Arts was founded in Arizona by Margaret Beresford
and Stephanie Small, they did so with a powerful belief in healing through the
power of the humanities and the support of like-minded individuals.

LuxePros is
honored to be another supporter for such a cause. A percentage of ticket sales
for the upcoming Luxury Designer Showcase will benefit Free Arts of Arizona, so
that victims of neglect and abuse can find emotional sanctuary and the next
generation of potential artists and designers, no matter where they come from,
can discover their calling.

Moving on through the roster of designers who will be
transforming and elevating our featured home in Arcadia, we come to the
accomplished Beth Donlan of Quite Lovely Design. Although she founded her
company in 2007 and has been operating it for a decade, Beth has been avidly
involved in the arts for thirty years.

 

At Quite Lovely Design, she offers a wide variety of
services such as remodeling, residential styling, home staging, open house
prep, and photo styling—however, she has a particular enthusiasm and talent for
holiday décor, as demonstrated by her work for Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s
Festival of Trees. Writing about her impressive 2015 tree, Beth describes: “I
had a six foot life-sized Santa standing front and center with all the elves
scurrying up ladders and hanging ribbons and ornaments to create the perfect
tree for Santa.”

 

This passion, combined with her years of experience in home
remodeling and her drive for going above and beyond, provides Beth the perfect
foundation upon which to deliver a home space that is both intimate and
functional for her clientele.

Next in the lineup of the talented women of the Luxury
Designer Showcase team is Karen Mandarino, principal designer and owner of Bella
More Interior Design. A graduate of Mesa Community College, Karen established
her company in 2001 and has been serving the Phoenix and Casa Grande area ever
since. She has over a decade of experience collaborating with clients in order
to find the perfect marriage between their needs and her vision

 

Her intimate interiors embody the welcoming aesthetic of the
Southwest while working with the needs of her clients. Focusing on how to best re-imagine
residential homes and small commercial businesses, Karen aims to “create spaces
for the client that encompass their style in a comfortable, warm ambiance.” She
also supports her fellow designers by taking an active part in the local design
community through her membership to the Arizona chapter of ASID. We could not
be more thrilled to welcome this insightful and practiced designer to the
talented crew!

Autumn, a welcome respite from the long, hot days of Southwestern summers.

When we think about Autumn, rich hues of eggplant, golden yellows and deep rusty oranges fall to mind. Enter crisp, cool winds and the warmth of Autumn Maple as a color trend for the equinox. A quintessential hue that blends tawny and russet shades, infusing any home with a dash of energy and vitality kicking off the festive holiday seasons ahead.

Autumnal orange is the color bringing thoughts of amusement, extroverts, and activity. The warmth of a fire, and tastes and aromas that are cheerful reminiscent of Halloween and Thanksgiving, radiating confidence that the holidays will soon be upon us. 

Delicious, rich brown undertones, Autumn Maple promises to make a dashing declaration in 2018 trends, whether through small touches or expansive statements. Transform any room into a hospitable and totally striking haven while being totally on trend.

Every color has a meaning and a therapeutic action. Amber tones are known to counteract depression, stimulate the intellect, and generally promote a positive mental state. This is why we view orange hues as happy and exciting. You can choose to paint almost any room of your house Autumn Maple or in a shade of this warm, welcoming hue. If you prefer a more conventional color on your walls, use gray or brown as your base and opt for shades of earthy orange in furniture, curtains, or decorative objects. Whatever color combination you choose, the room will always radiate with the presence of Autumn Maple.

Spirited Autumn Maple may not be an easy color to work with for the timid, especially when striking a strong statement. Start small and, when you feel comfortable, work your way up. Autumn Maple can also look wonderful in a resourceful palette made up of complementary Navy Blue with pops of this rusty hues. “This is quite an interesting color combination,” said Eiseman. “It combines warm and cool tones that you just can’t avoid looking at.”

Autumn Maple takes a sophisticated turn when paired with tawny browns and creams in this fireside sitting area. The warm palette of this Napa Valley Showhouse room was inspired by the surrounding vineyards at harvest. “Our palette is congruent with views of the rolling hills right outside,” says designer Annie Bowman. 

Sundrella

Vibrant tones can amp up the energy when introduced outdoors. This neutral wicker seating is complemented by a pillow in a distinctive brown, orange and red pattern. Textural details in deep browns ground the brighter elements of the palette, allowing the orange hues to take center stage against the beautiful backdrop.

Keep the energy flowing with both fun and function by introducing fabrics in durable Ultrasuede and bringing those outdoor Sunbrella fabrics into family spaces.

The next professional we shine our spotlight towards in the buildup to the Luxury Designer Showcase is the illustrious Jennifer Duneier. Featured on platforms such as Good Morning America, DIY Network, Fox News, and HGTV.com, Duneier is well-established in the world of design, and her work has been showcased in the likes of the New York Junior League House Tour, the Mansions & Millionaires 2009 Designer Showcase, and Holiday House 2011. Her stylistic sensibilities and command of color are apparent in all of her designs, which are elegant, modern, and above all thoughtful to the desires of the client. When re-designing a penthouse apartment for one of her recent design projects, for instance, Duneier curated every material and detail in order to replicate the slick, luxuriant atmosphere of a private yacht—the result is a stunning island of refinement far above the city.

Duneier works in both residential and commercial properties, graduated with a degree in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design, and is also a Professional Member of ASID. She has been in business under Duneier Design for 10 years but continues to meet her projects with passion and excitement. “Every day is different,” she says, “every client is interesting and has a different story to tell, and it’s my job to make that narrative come to life within their home.”

Millennial pink has been ruling the runways and product shelves. Trendy as it may seem, millennial pink is not for the weak, it’s a pretty intimidating color to carry. Although one of my personal favs, pink just isn’t for everyone.

It doesn’t surprise that; Navy Blue has risen to become the “it” color of the season. After all Navy Blue is a girl’s (guy’s) best friend.  

What’s not to like about navy. It’s reliable, sensitive, and simply a dark shade of blue that plays well with just about any color. Navy Blue works well in fashion and in interior design. 

Vogue: Inky Blue

Don’t feign shock when you learn this elegant hue is featured as one of Fall/Winter 2018 top color trends. Investing in this hue is no fleeting fad. Navy Blue is simply solid and virtually timeless.
